MODULAR NEWS
-Introducing The Tough Alliance-

THE TOUGH ALLIANCE
The Tough Alliance
are a duo of dreamers from Gothenburg, of which not a lot of personal information is known, but whose notoriety precedes them with hefty weight. Kicking about in their native Sweden since 2004 and having established themselves as one of the most infamous bands on the scene there, with the forthcoming release of their latest album A New Chance on Modular late September, The Tough Alliance are ready to take on the world, one disbeliever at a time.

A New Chance is a pure turquoise dream of ecstatic house pianos, white sand, melancholic strings, blind faith in the future and how everything – hand on heart - comes down to emotions. It’s the record that sounds like an endless summer, and it will be preceded by the first single Neo Violence, on September 22, with remixes to come from Laidback Luke, Zongamin, Woolfy and Windsurf.

Part of TTA’s Scandinavian notoriety comes down to the fact they often have carried baseball bats in promotional photos, part of it comes down to their controversial “live” shows that involved neither live singing nor live playing, part of it comes down to the fact that they’re created their own kind world in which these kind of statements can not only exist but flourish, keeping their fans captivated as to what they do next.

Sweden has had their share of TTA, now it’s everyone else’s turn to fall in love. For a thorough introduction into the duo's charms, check them out on youtube...

EINE KLEINE NACHT MUSIK
Following on from the Eine Kleine Nachtmusik launch at the Dazed Gallery that included a guest appearance from the police, the full film created to accompany the record is now on display on einekleinenachtmusik.tv
Culture Deluxe called the film "possibly the best music related promo film that I have ever seen", and you'd be hard pressed getting us to argue with them.

People have been saying very nice things about the record too....
"A thrilling concept record" -
IDJ
"A wistful thing of beauty" -
Metro
"This is trippy shit, man" -
Mixmag
"Riton for President" - DJ Mehdi
"Exceptional, inspirational, totally hot, a thing of majestic beauty, buy a copy for everyone in your family and the dog" - Modular

THE PRESETS
The Presets are winging their way back to Europe for their last tour dates and club shows for the summer. See everywhere you can catch them HERE.

Talk Like That is to be the next single from Apocalypso, and comes with a straight up sick set of remixes from Jence [Digitalism], Dave Spoon, Optimo and CFCF.

There is also a fantastic new video for Talk Like That, directed by the mighty, exceptionally talented French duo Jonas and Francois [Justice, Kanye West, Madonna]. The video sees a tragically devoted, timelessly beautiful angel praying at the alter of The Presets, followed by a ritualistic destruction of instruments, some wonderfully ethereal slow mo dancing, and a surreal sequence of Kim and Jules in some kind of teenage bedroom talking about cream and sneakers......
See it HERE and NOW

CUT COPY
Following on from their lauded [albeit late] performance at the Pitchfork Music festival, Cut Copy are set to return to Europe as well. Check up on everywhere you can catch them HERE.

LADYHAWKE

The next single from the forthcoming Ladyhawke album is going to be the sophisticated strut of Dusk Till Dawn. The single will come complete with an array of remixes by the likes of Linus Loves, The Shoes, Simon & Shaker and Canyons. Being the overachievers they are, Canyons turned in not one but 2 remixes, and to whet you're appetite a little we're giving you their Garage Disco version absolutely free HERE.
Enjoy.

Keep it cosmic*,
Modular.
